NPC Chat Minutes
NPC Chat brings your characters to life — your players talk to them directly, and they only know what you’ve loaded into their knowledge base. No invented lore, no surprise quests. Sessions are billed by real conversation time, rounded up to the nearest minute.

Storage Vault
Every audio file is saved to your cloud library. Storage does not reset monthly — it’s a running total. Delete older files or upgrade when full.

What happens when I hit my character limit?
Your character allowance resets on the 1st of each month. If you reach your limit mid-month, you can upgrade your plan for immediate access to a higher allowance, or wait for the reset.
Can I change my plan anytime?
Absolutely. Use the Manage Subscription button on your Profile page to change or cancel your plan anytime. Changes take effect immediately.
What counts as a “character”?
Every character in your text counts — letters, spaces, punctuation, and line breaks. A typical novel page is around 1,500–2,000 characters. The Bard plan at 500K characters handles roughly 250–330 pages per month.
What is NPC Chat?
NPC Chat brings your NPCs to life. You load what a character knows (up to 50K characters of backstory, world info, and personality), give it a voice and mood, and your players talk to it directly using their microphone. The NPC only knows what you tell it — it won’t invent lore, create quests, or go off-script. Save NPCs as profiles and bring them back session after session. Built on the Gemini Live API. Available from Bard ($24/mo).
What happens when I run out of NPC Chat minutes?
You won’t be able to start new NPC Chat sessions until the 1st of the next month when your minutes reset. You can upgrade your plan at any time for an immediate higher allowance. Your saved NPC profiles and character allowance remain fully intact.
How are NPC Chat minutes calculated?
Minutes are measured by server-elapsed time, rounded up to the nearest minute. Each session can last up to 15 minutes. Setup time — choosing a voice, writing the knowledge base, loading profiles — doesn’t count against your minutes. Only active conversation time is billed.
Is the free tier really free forever?
Yes. The free tier gives you 5,000 characters per month with 30 Gemini Flash voices and 2 narration moods, no credit card required. It’s perfect for trying out the service before committing to a plan.
What’s the difference between Gemini Flash and Gemini Pro voices?
Gemini Flash voices are low-latency and great for most narration. Gemini Pro voices offer higher fidelity and more expressive delivery — ideal for audiobooks and long-form content. Free and Scribe get 30 Flash voices; Bard unlocks all 60 (Flash + Pro).
How does billing work?
Subscriptions are handled securely through Stripe. You can manage your payment method, change plans, or cancel anytime from the Stripe Customer Portal (accessible from your Profile page).
What is the Storage Vault?
Every audio file you generate is saved to your personal library in the cloud. The Storage Vault is your total storage allowance — from 100 MB on Free up to 50 GB on Bard. If your vault is full, just delete older audio files or upgrade your plan to keep generating.
Can I use the audio commercially?
Commercial use (podcasts, YouTube, audiobooks for sale, etc.) is available on the Bard ($24/mo) plan. Free and Scribe tiers are for personal use only.
